From 2019 to 2023, God called me to homeless ministry in Allen and Auglaize counties in Ohio. The ministry consisted of me and another ministry going to homeless camps, sitting with the people, talking with them to determine what their long-term goals were. If their desire was to transition from the streets, we would create a plan to determine the resources necessary for a successful transition and then work with the person and the necessary local agencies and organizations to help the person integrate back into society.
For those who didn’t want to get off the streets, we continued to provide basic necessities for life.
Success rate was about 1.5 to 2.0% of the people we encountered made the decision to get off the street.
